Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao has asked the executing agencies to speed up the ongoing work on the new bridge across Murreduvagu rivulet ahead of the monsoon season to ensure its expeditious completion for improving road connectivity to several tribal hamlets in Palvancha division.
The government has recently sanctioned the bridge at an estimated cost of Rs. 9.8 crore to ensure better linkage between various far flung tribal hamlets with the divisional headquarters town of Palvancha.
Mr. Rao, accompanied by the divisional level officials of the Irrigation and other departments, visited the construction site of the bridge in Palvancha mandal on Sunday afternoon. He monitored the progress of the works on the spot.
He also inspected the ongoing road works at Bangarujala village taken up at an estimated expenditure of Rs. 50 lakh. The villagers apprised him of their water woes and sought urgent steps to redress their grievances. Stating that the trial run of supply of drinking water under a new scheme is underway, he said water supply will begin within a week. Mr. Rao also visited Peta Cheruvu, Gudipadu and various other villages late in the afternoon.
