Kin of Telangana martyrs get Rs. 13.7 crore financial aid

Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Etala Rajender has distributed financial assistance of Rs. 13.7 crore at the rate of Rs. 10 lakh each to 137 bereaved family members of Telangana martyrs, who sacrificed their life for the cause of separate Telangana State in Karimnagar district.

Earlier, the Minister for Finance and others paid floral tributes to the ‘Martys’ Memorial’ . Later, they participated in the community lunch along with the bereaved family members of the martyrs.

At a programme organised in the Collectorate auditorium in Karimnagar on Monday, the Minister was all praise for the Telangana martyrs.

Recollecting the supreme sacrifices made by the martyrs for the cause of Telangana statehood, he said that the State government would provide all assistance to the martyrs families. He said that they would provide financial assistance to the remaining martyrs in the second phase in the district.

Government Whip Koppula Eshwar said that the Telangana movement was a historical movement in the world.

He called upon the people to rededicate themselves for rebuilding the Telangana State for fulfilment of dreams of martyrs.

Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, State Cultural Council Chairman Rasamayi Balakishan, Parliamentary secretary V.V. Satish Kumar, legislators Gangula Kamalakar, K. Vidyasagar Rao, D. Manohar Reddy, B. Shoba, Putta Madhukar, MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad, Joint Collector Pausumi Basu and others were also present.
