Khammam ranks 2nd in Inter exams

Khammam bagged the second position in the entire Telangana State in the Intermediate second year results which were declared on Monday.

The district registered a pass percentage of 64 per cent. The district shared the second place with Hyderabad district , according to official sources.

Of the total 21,417 students, who appeared for the exams 13,726 students passed. Girls outshined boys by registering a pass percentage of 68 per cent. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 59 per cent.

The overall pass percentage was improved by two per cent than compared to last year.

The government residential junior colleges in the district have put up a good show this year.

The social welfare colleges achieved a pass percentage of 85.67 per cent. The tribal welfare colleges followed suit by registering a pass percentage of 77.84 per cent. The pass percentage in the government junior colleges stood at 53.59 per cent.

The government junior college at Banigandlapadu in Yerrupalem mandal secured a 97.96 per cent pass percentage in the general stream and 100 per cent results in the vocational stream.

Girls fare well

Sangareddy Staff Reporter adds: The Medak district has improved its performances in the Intermediate comparing with previous year. According to officials in the board, the district secured 54 per cent pass comparing with 49 per cent previous year.

As many as 11,871 students passed in the exams of the total 21,834 students appeared . While the boys pass per cent is 49, girls secured 60 per cent pass.
