An impressive tableau on the Bathukamma theme rolled down the main streets of the town on Monday, depicting the rich cultural heritage of Telangana.

The colourful tableau of the Information and Public Relations Department displayed the splendour of Bathukamma, the festival of flowers, in its full glory.

The portrait of a giant Bathukamma with impressive pictures of Lord Sitaramachandra Swamy, the presiding deity of the historical Bhadradri temple, and the popular tribal art forms of the district in the backdrop drew the attention of passersby in the town.

According to sources, the tableau will take part in the closing ceremony of Bathukamma festivities slated to be held on October 20.

Over 100 artistes from the district are expected to participate in the State-level concluding function of Bathukamma festivities to be held in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Earlier, Minister for Roads and Buildings T. Nageswara Rao, formally flagged off the tableau at Kaviraj Nagar in the town.
