TPCC general secretary and official spokesperson B. Maheshkumar Goud has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of pushing the State into a debt crisis with his financial indiscipline and misrule. When the unified Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated and Telangana was formed it was rich and had surplus in revenue account but with his financial profligacy and wrong priorities the Government had to borrow a whopping Rs.1.60 lakh crore in the last two years, he said.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Goud said that the Chief Minister just to boost his ego unnecessarily changed the design of the Pranahitha-Chevella and was spending crores of rupees on the Mallannasagar reservoir which was redundant indeed. Water could be given to farmers by lift schemes instead of constructing a huge reservoir at a place where there were no canals or river, he said.
He said Mr. Rao ignored the construction of double bedroom houses for the homeless, but embarked on building a lavish bungalow for himself with an estimated cost of Rs.30 crore. He said it was very unfortunate that the Chief Minister was demolishing the old building constructed during YSR period in the name of “vaastu”.
Taking a dig at the Member of Parliament K. Kavitha, Mahesh said that the former was busy visiting foreign counties and not interested in meeting common people. District leaders Gadugu Gangadhar, Taher Bin HamdanN. RatnakarArunatara, K. Nagesh Reddy, M. Ganga Reddy, Shekhar Goud and Kesha Venu were present.
