Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday left for China to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) meet slated on September 9.
Leading a 16-member delegation, Mr. Rao left in a chartered flight from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here. Apart from attending the WEF, the Chief Minister is expected to meet top industrialists in China.
The Chief Minister-led delegation, according to official information would stay in Dalian till Septemeber 10. They would visit Shanghai (September 10 and 11), Beijing (September 11 to 13) Shenzhen (September 13 and 14) and Hong Kong (September 14 and 15).
Along with senior officials including Principal Secretary (Industries) Arvind Kumar and vice chairman and managing director of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Jayesh Ranjan, the Chief Minister will meet industrialists to explore investments for the new State.
Before his departure, the Chief Minister had a brief meeting with the Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on the week-long programmes to be conducted by the Government. He spoke about the ongoing Harithaharam mass plantation drive and conduct of Poet Kaloji anniversary. He discussed about the power situation with TS Genco Managing Director D. Prabhakar Rao.
At the airport his cabinet colleagues led by Deputy Chief Minister’s – Kadiyam Srihari and Mahamood Ali and others accorded him a warm send off. Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, P. Srinivas Reddy, T. Harish Rao, Etela Rajender, Laxma Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, A. Indrakaran Reddy, Jogu Ramanna, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, City Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy and others were present.
