Karimnagar will emerge as the most sought-after tourism centre in Telangana with the coming up of Manair River Front on the shores of Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir, remarked Minister for Finance and Civil Supplies Eatala Rajender.
He was addressing a gathering after performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Haritha hotel and convention centre at Ujawala park on the reservoir shores on Tuesday. The Minister elaborated his statement by saying the town would serve as gateway for pilgrims and tourists in the north Telangana region.
Local MP B. Vinod Kumar said an amount of ₹15.17 crore has been sanctioned for construction of Haritha hotel, convention centre and theme park through NITI-Ayog funds. He said the river front would be developed on the lines of Sabarmati river front in Gujarat at a cost of ₹506 crore.
Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, legislator G. Kamalakar, IDC chairman Eda Shankar Reddy, Tourism MD B. Manohar Rao, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad and district tourism officer Venkateshwar Rao were present.
