Kamalnathan committee to meet tomorrow

The Kamalnathan Committee on distribution of State level employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will finalise its draft guidelines in a meeting to be held in Delhi on July 23.

The committee finalised the draft guidelines and sent it the Chief Secretaries of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for their signatures before uploading them on the government website. However, Telangana Government raised some issues which would be discussed in the committee meeting.

Sources said that both the Chief Secretaries will attend the meeting. Telangana government sought some changes on nativity norms and also option to be given to those close to retirement following AP Government’s decision to enhance retirement age to 60 years.

The committee is expected to upload the draft guidelines after Wednesday’s meeting as per the Terms of Reference provided by the AP State Reorganisation Act. It would invite feed back from public, employees and employees associations, incorporate them and send the final guidelines for the approval of the Centre and the Prime Minister.
