Judicial staff to go on strike from July 1

The Telangana Judicial Employees Association members have decided to go on an indefinite strike from July 1 demanding that the government recall the provisional list of judges who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, but allocated to sub-ordinate courts in Telangana State.

They were also demanding that the government implement the Shetty Commission recommendations, which framed the pay structure and service conditions of sub-ordinate court employees and other demands such as 20 per cent quota in the magistrate posts, increase of the medical reimbursement from the existing Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh and others.

HC faulted

At the Karimnagar District Judicial Employees general body organised in Karimnagar on Monday, All-India Judicial Employees Associations Federation general secretary B Laxma Reddy found fault with the High Court for not inviting them for talks in spite of serving strike notice on June 13.

Instead, the authorities threatened suspension of employees if they go on strike, he said and called upon all the judicial employees from the rank of attender to administrative officer to participate in the strike. State president K Jagannadham, general secretary K Rajashekhar Reddy were present.
