GTTA players win big in table tennis tourney

Bringing laurels to the Global Table Tennis Academy (GTTA), two of its players – S.F.R. Snehit and Akula Sreeja — bagged two titles each in the State ranking table tennis tournament, which drew to a close here on Sunday.

Thanks to power-packed performances by the players from various parts of the State on the final day, the tournament ended on an exciting note, stimulating interest in table tennis among denizens of the town.

Mr. Snehit won both the men’s title and junior boys title. Ms. Sreeja clinched both the women’s title and youth girls title.

GTTA’s G. Varun Shanker won the sub-junior boys title.

In all, three players from the academy clinched five titles in 10 events.

Other winners

The winners of other events are: U. Rithwik (cadet boys title), Harsh V. Lahoti (youth boys title), G. Palak (cadet girls title), G. Ayushi (sub-junior girls title), and Laasya (junior girls title).
