The State government has a concrete plan of development for Warangal district right from internal drain to outer ring road, setting up of composite textile mill to national education institutions, said MP Kadiam Srihari.
Focus on DevadulaDisclosing this at a press conference here on Sunday, the MP said the party had decided to give top priority to the development of the district on all fronts. To begin with, it would focus on completing the ongoing Devadula irrigation project and ensure bringing additional three lakh acres under cultivation in next five years.
The Hyderabad Public School management has in principle agreed to set up a branch here in Warangal. It may start functioning from next academic year. Similarly, the Centre has sanctioned one Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and it will be located here in Warangal, the MP said.
According to him, the government would accord importance to development and modernisation of all check dams and minor irrigation sources to mitigate the drinking water problems.
Funds for roadsThe government has sanctioned Rs. 39 crore for development of four existing roads within the district. The MP disclosed that the State government had decided to set up two new power projects of 660 MW each at Bhupalpalli and Genco would take it up to improve the power generation in Telangana State. It would be executed in the next five years.
“This district has given two MP and eight MLA seats to TRS. The party wants to repay its gratitude by developing it at an unexpected level,” Mr Srihari said. The Central government would include Warangal as one of the 100 Smart Cities soon to be announced. A team from the National Textile Corporation (NTC) would soon visit Warangal to inspect location for the proposed Composite Textile Mill. TRS MP A Sitaram Naik, MLA A Ramesh, district president T Ravinder Rao and others were present.
