Government teachers fleece B.Ed trainees

July 30, 2014 12:58 am | Updated 12:58 am IST - KARIMNAGAR:

Students of private Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course are worried over ‘greedy’ government teachers harassing them demanding gifts and parties for signing in the academic records after completion of their one-month training in various government schools in Karimnagar.

As part of the B.Ed course, the students have to undergo one-month teaching training in various government schools in and around Karimnagar town. During this period, the private B.Ed students take classes by preparing their own teaching and learning tools. During this period, the B.Ed students complete teaching of majority of the syllabus of various subjects, thus benefiting the government teachers. When the private B Ed students take classes, the subject teachers should sit in the class and give necessary suggestions. However, in reality, the government teachers are confining themselves to their staff rooms.

On condition of anonymity, a principal of a private B.Ed college in Karimnagar too vouched the claims of the students. Actually, the teachers should be grateful to the students for the completion of syllabus within one month, he said, and urged the authorities concerned to take necessary measures to check the practice.
