GITAM University, Hyderabad B. Tech Second year CSE student Shivali and her mother Kavita Srivastava secured their second Guinness World Record for the largest display of quilled flowers, which are unique and different from the other.

They made 7,011 uniquely quilled flowers beating the previous record of 6,241 flowers.

The daughter and her mother displayed their creation on April 29 at GITAM University, which was validated by the GITAM officials as independent judges.

The record has just been confirmed after validation and submission of a corroborating video.

With two world records, the duo seems unstoppable with their preparation for the next record; probably handmade paper jewellery will be displayed at GITAM Hyderabad campus in September.

Earlier, they had created their first record for the largest display of handmade paper dolls consisting of 1,251 different dolls on January 18.

Meanwhile, GITAM Hyderabad Third year ECE student Manasa Jonnalagadda won Miss & Mrs. India Asia Pacific 2017 title recently.

The title’s grand finale was held at Pattaya, Thailand and contestants from India, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka took part in the event.
