Finally, Reshma, a girl of Guntur, reached the lap of her father and grandmother on Thursday thanks to the efforts put in by Childline, an NGO working on child rights.

Few weeks ago the Childline office received a call from Jinnaram that a four-year-old girl was being harassed by parents. Childline director M.S. Chandra rescued the girl and got her admitted to the government hospital. It was alleged that the girl’s mother had eloped with a man along with the girl and then had physically abused her. The biological father of the girl, Sk. Habeeb, approached the Childline officials after seeing the news in the media.

After ascertaining the facts about Habeeb and his mother, officials of Child Welfare Committee handed over the girl to the father.
