The TRS leaders asked the TDP MLAs to clarify if they agreed to the proposal of their party leader and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu to stop generating power at Srisailam to save water for Andhra and Rayalaseema in next season.

The TDP leaders of Telangana should tell people if they agreed to Mr. Naidu writing a letter to Krishna Tribunal asking it to direct Telangana government to stop generating power at Srisailam.

TRS MP K Srihari, MLA A Ramesh, district president T Ravinder Rao and others said the Telangana TDP leaders should prevail over Andhra Pradesh government and secure 1,000 MW power to farmers here. “If TDP leaders have commitment, they should bring power influencing Mr Naidu,” they said.

The AP government was not giving the due 54 per cent power generated from Krishnapatnam and Lower Sileru and as a result there was severe shortage of power in Telangana. Mr Naidu was deliberately reducing power generation in Andhra only to trouble the TRS government here. The TRS leaders said they were ready to save water and give the same to Andhra and Rayalaseema provided the Andhra government gives 1,000 MW of power now to protect the standing crops and save the lives of farmers.

He said the AP Chief Minister had written the letter with a malafide intention of reserving the water for the third crop in his State.

At a press conference, Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar, ZP chairperson Tula Uma flayed the AP Chief Minister for snatching away the allocated share of power to Telangana State.
