Furore over erection of Telangana Talli statue

Tension prevailed for sometime at Kangti mandal headquarters on Saturday when revenue officials and police prevented locals from establishing Telangana Talli statue.

Verbal duel

The officials objected the villagers stating that it was government land and any constructions without prior permission from the State government would not be allowed. 

The villagers entered into an argument with the officials stating that when construction of buildings were taking place in government land without permission why not Telangana Talli statute, a symbol of pride.

Repeated appeals by officials did not yield result. The villagers even erected a tent at that place continuing their agitation.

Scuffle took place when the police tried to remove the tent.

Tension continued till evening.
