The State government has released Rs. 18.75 crore for development of a tourist centre at Jodeghat village in Kerameri mandal of Adilabad district.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised in October last year to develop Jodeghat at a cost of Rs. 25 crore.

B.P. Acharya, Principal Secretary, Tourism, will visit the remote habitation on Friday in connection with start of the works. He will inspect the sites for various buildings and works.

Jodeghat is where legendary Gond leader Kumram Bheem was martyred in 1940 by the armed forces of the Nizam. The tourist centre will include a memorial for him.
