Freshers’ day celebrated at GITAM

School of Technology, GITAM University, celebrated its annual freshers’ day on Friday. The programme was marked by several colourful and entertaining items from the students of B.Tech first and second year.

It explored the talent of the students in dancing, singing, and skits, as well as exhibiting their personal talents. The ceremony hosted many dazzling performances by both seniors and juniors alike.

The highlight of the event was the crowning of Mr. and Miss Fresher 2016, where Suraj and Hema were honoured with the titles.

Prof. N. Siva Prasad, pro Vice-Chancellor, in his brief address, drew the attention of the students towards their overall development through courage, determination, and hard work.

The freshers’ day message was delivered by Prof. Ch. Sanjay, principal, School of Technology, and D.V.V.S.R. Varma, resident director.

They highlighted the different ways in which the students can make their careers soar higher by making best use of all the facilities provided by the varsity.

G.A. Rama Rao, retd. BARK scientific officer and coordinator, B.Sc programme, heads of department of various engineering courses, faculty and staff also took part in the celebrations.
