Fourth unit of 500 MWs tripped following technical snag at the 2600 MWs National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) at Ramagundam in Karimnagar district on Monday.

Reports said that the unit developed problem following tube leakage and the authorities were forced to shut down power generation on the unit. Officials launched restoration works on a war-footing to resume power generation by late night or Tuesday morning. Against the installed capacity of 2600 MWs, NTPC Ramagundam is generating only 2100 MWs of power.
