Former MLA Satish Pawar dead

Former MLA and Municipal Chairman D. Satish Pawar passed away after brief illness in the wee hours of Friday. He was 61 and is survived by wife and four daughters.

He also served as municipal councillor and TDP floor leader in the first Municipal Corporation of Nizamabad. He had become popular in politics after defeating the then Minister and his mentor D. Srinivas in 1994 Assembly elections. He was the Municipal Chairman from the Congress party from 1987.

Mr. Pawar shifted loyalties to the Congress from the TDP and continued in the party till his death. He was instrumental behind the construction of the Ayyappa Swami temple at Subashnagar in the town. Known for his political acumen, he was hankered after by many leaders for his support during every election.

He was a close relative of former DGP and TRS politburo member Pervaram Ramulu.
