Five killed in road accidents

: Three people lost their lives in an accident on Outer Ring Road at Gondapally near Shamshabad while two others lost their lives due to reckless driving on the PVNR Expressway early on Monday. Three of a family were killed when their car rammed into a stationary lorry on ORR while a woman who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Instantaneous death

The victims Nagarama Laxmi (53), her daughter Sindura (19) and her brother, Mahinder (50) along with a woman Aparna were on their way to Gachibowli from Vijaywada when the accident took place around 9.30 a.m.

“Mahinder was driving the car probably at a high speed and rammed into the lorry that was parked on the roadside after running out of fuel,” Shamshabad Inspector, K. Uma Maheshwar Rao said. All the victims died on the spot.

Such was the impact of the collision that the car’s bonnet got stuck under the lorry and the police had to summon a crane to pull out the car. In the accident at PVNR Expressway two businessmen, Gautam Mudani (23) of Patancheruvu and Dhruv Bhanushali (26) of Santoshnagar died when their car hit a road divider. They along with Rahul, Manish, Tarun and Krishna were returning after participating in a dandiya event at Shamshabad.
