Fire breaks out at Pharma unit in Hyderabad

Seven workers of a pharma unit in Jeedimetla industrial area were critically injured when a major fire broke out at the plant in the early hours of Friday here.

Police said that fire broke out between 6.30 a.m. and 7 a.m. and six fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

“Flames were brought under control within an hour and the exact cause of the fire is yet not known,” Jeedimetla police said, adding that a search operation is still on to find if anyone is trapped inside the unit.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Kompally. “So far no deaths were reported” police said.
