If the people supplement the efforts of State government in building a well-developed Telangana State, it would be a tribute to those who died for the cause of separate Telangana statehood, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.

Many youth ended their life during a separate Telangana movement. Their lose could never be compensated, he said. The Deputy Chief Minister distributed financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh to each of 88 families. At a function held at Ambedkar Bhavan here on Wednesday, Mr. Srihari said each family had a heart-rendering story to narrate. The State government had listed out all those who sacrificed their lives based on the FIRs available with various police stations. If any family was missed out, they could provide the details to the district Collector and secure the financial assistance, he said.

Collector Vakati Karuna, ZP chairperson G. Padma, MLAs B. Shankar Naik, Aruri Ramesh, M. Yadagiri Reddy, and T. Rajaiah were present.
