A post on Facebook by music director M.M. Keeravani of Baahubali , expressing his appreciation for an autorickshaw driver, made him a superstar in the temple town of Yadagirigutta.
On a Sunday a little before Ramzan, the music director and his family had visited the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta that was teeming with devotees.
As he was walking towards the temple for darshan, autorickshaw driver M.D. Chand Basha spotted him. A music lover and ardent fan of Mr. Keeravani, he rushed to him and introduced himself as a fan. He went a step further and introduced him to a temple officer, G. Ramesh and some priests. And voila! The excited officer and the priests accorded a ‘VIP’ darshan to the visiting music director and his family.
It did not end there. Mr. Basha accompanied the visitors till they came out of the temple complex, also helping them get ‘prasadam’. Since the police do not allow parking of any vehicles atop the hill shrine, Mr. Keeravani rode in Mr. Basha’s 3-wheeler and capped it off by taking a picture of a proud Mr. Basha before his autorickshaw.
A couple of days before Eid, on July 16 to be precise, the music director posted the picture on his Facebook page, appreciating Mr. Basha. “Eid Mubarak Basha, auto driver at Yadadri. I cannot forget his help during my visit to the temple,” read the comment. It went viral, getting 2,500 likes, comments and more shares.
Most of them also appreciated Mr. Keeravani for remembering an ordinary man.
Meanwhile, the temple authorities are said to have requested the popular music director to compose some songs on Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy, a request to which Mr. Keeravani responded positively.
