Agriculture is on the right course in Adilabad, thanks to a good start to the monsoon which saw the district receiving a cumulative average rainfall of 215 mm since June 1 this year. As many as eight of the 18 mandals have received rainfall in excess of 220 mm and only three have recorded rains below the 35 mm mark.

Boath mandal received the highest rainfall of the season so far at 490 mm while neighbouring Neredigonda recorded 390 mm.

High rainfall

Indervelli and Tamsi mandals also received 350 mm and 320 mm of rainfall respectively during the period. Almost all the mandals in Adilabad are in the second stage of cultivation now after proper germination of seeds. Cotton which has been cultivated extensively in the district, is being administered fertiliser to ensure proper growth.
