Farmers apprise Minister of difficulties in getting crop loan

July 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - KHAMMAM:

A section of farmers of Kongara village in Nelakondapally mandal narrated their problems in securing crop loans to Minister for Roads and Buildings T. Nageswara Rao during the latter’s visit to the village in connection with road development works on Sunday.

The Minister laid foundation stone for a BT road between Appalanarasimhapuram and Rayagudem at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.65 crore at Kongara village on Sunday afternoon. Some of the farmers apprised the Minister of their problems in obtaining crop loans for want of the computerised ‘pahanis’. They told the Minister that the bankers were insisting on computerised pahanis to sanction crop loans. Some of them also told the Minister that the low voltage supply was taking a toll on their agriculture pumpsets. The Minister immediately called up the officials concerned over phone and asked them to redress the grievances of the farmers expeditiously.
