The Lok Satta Udyama Samstha district unit on Monday felicitated a farmer M. Shivaiah, who had ensured the arrest of Village Revenue Officer (VRO) by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding and accepting bribe for doing official work in Lingannapet village of Gambhiraopeta mandal recently.
At a programme here on Monday, Lok Satta president N. Srinivas, general secretary Prakash Holla and others felicitated the farmer for checking the corruption in the rural areas by booking the corrupt revenue official.
Inspiration for youth
Appreciating the farmer for his role to check corruption, they said that the literate society should take inspiration from the farmer and fight against the corruption in the society.
They said that the farmer had traversed through 80 km distance from his village to approach the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) office to lodge compliant against the corrupt VRO.
Lok Satta leaders R. Chandraprabhakar, K.S. Narayana and others were also present.
