Incessant rains during the past four days led to 19 mandals in the district receiving excess rainfall till Monday. Thirty-three mandals recorded normal rainfall and five mandals received deficit rainfall. The mandals which received excess rainfall include - Karimnagar, Bejjanki, Kamalapur, Veenavanka, Elkathurthy, Jammikunta, Huzurabad, Bheemadevarapalli, Ibrahimpatnam, Metpally, Sarangapur, Mustabad, Sircilla, Odela, Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Manthani, Kamapur and Kataram.
The mandals which reported deficit rainfall included Konaraopeta, Chigurumamidi, Ramadugu, Kodimial and Gollapalli.
On Monday, the district recorded an average of 27.8 mm rainfall. The rains had brought copious inflows into rivulets and streams inundating the low-lying areas in Mahadevpur mandal.
Following the rains in the catchment areas, the Godavari received inflows at Dharmapuri temple shrine and Kaleshwaram. The coal production was hampered for the third day on Monday following the inundation of the Open-cast mines in Ramagundam region.
