With the next general elections round the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to focus on propagating the Union Government schemes. The effort is aimed at creating awareness among the public that the BJP is also playing a key role in the development taking place in the State, while exposing the failures of the State Government at the same time.
BJP floor leader in the Assembly G. Kishan Reddy has visited the Government hospital at the district headquarters on Friday and enquired about the services being extended to the patients. He enquired whether medicines were being supplied to them and interacted with the hospital superintendent Dr. Murari.
“We have decided to visit all the government hospitals in the district headquarters and examine their functioning. At the district hospital in Sangareddy, the new building constructed with the funds of NHM is being used for mother and child care,” he said. He stressed on the need of increasing the number of scanning machines stating that it would not cost more than ₹4 lakh and found fault with the fact that the hospital had only half of the required number of doctors and other technical staff. He demanded equal payment for equal work for the personnel working in the department and the need to appoint civil surgeons.
There is a need to establish the govt. medical college at Sangareddy and we do not know why the government has failed to implement its promise, he said. The Chief Minister had promised to establish a 30-bed hospital at every mandal headquarters and what happened to that promise?” asked Mr. Kishan Reddy.
He has also recalled the promise of constructing 100-bed hospital at each assembly constituency headquarters and sought to know how many had been constructed so far.
