Enhancing the historical value of Buddhist site

Nodal officer appointed to oversee beautification work of the tourist place

The Peddapalli district administration has been entrusted with the task of beautifying the historic Buddhist site at Dhulikatta village in Eligaid mandal in the district.

Peddapalli In-charge DRO Ashok Kumar has been appointed the nodal officer for the work.

Peddapalli MP Balka Suman and legislator Dasari Manohar Reddy have announced to release ₹50 lakh from their Constituency Development Fund for the beautification of historic tourist site.

Mr. Suman, Mr. Manohar Reddy along with Bhuddavana Project Officer Mallepalli Laxmaiah and others visited the Buddhist site on Sunday. On the occasion, they informed the concerned officials to provide road connectivity to the site.

Stating that the Buddhist site was spread over nine acres, the MP informed the district authorities to acquire additional land from the farmers to beautify the place.

He also announced the appointment of a watchman at the site for its protection. He asked all the district officials and elected representatives of the region to participate in Sharmdhan programme on Monday to remove shrubs and maintain cleanliness at the site.

Instructing the officials to prepare a plan for beautifying the site, he asked them to install sign boards informing people about the historical importance of the place.
