Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he was writing a letter to his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao for taking up immediate counselling for EAMCET students as the delay was making students move to other States.
Replying to questions at a press conference here on Thursday, he said the institutions in both the States too would suffer on account of delay. He was confident that Mr. Rao would respond positively.
On the move of Telangana government to make 1956 as the cut-off year for deciding nativity, the Chief Minister said nobody could change the law or violate it, while pointing out that there was a Presidential Order and six-point formula to decide these issues. He said it was high time both the States concentrated on development as carrying out hatred campaign would do more harm than good. Mr. Naidu declined to comment on the remark of Telangana Major Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao that he was only a guest. He said whether it was Telangana or Andhra Pradesh, the people were Telugus and both the governments would have to serve them efficiently. He said Telugu Desam party was strong in both the States.
