EAMCET: TS Minister meets Governor again

January 06, 2015 12:06 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:11 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Telangana Education Minister G. Jagadish Reddy has alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Government has been intentionally creating an issue on conducting EAMCET.

He called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan here on Monday, his third meeting with the Governor on the issue during the past two weeks, and reiterated the position of Telangana Government on the issue. Speaking to reporters outside Raj Bhavan, Mr. Reddy said it was AP that was violating laws and had announced EAMCET schedule unilaterally without consulting Telangana.

Mr. Reddy stated that Telangana would announce the EAMCET schedule soon as it was Telangana’s right to conduct the exam even according to the provision of the AP Reorganisation Act.

However, the release of EAMCET schedule by Telangana is likely to take a few more days since Mr. Reddy is likely to visit Delhi on Tuesday and meet Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on the row over EAMCET between Telangana and AP.

Separately, the Education Minister released the logo of the Telangana Intermediate Board. Speaking on the occasion, he reminded AP that it had to obey the laws made by the Centre. However, it was AP that was violating the laws repeatedly from the day one of creation of Telangana State, he said.

He explained that Telangana would conduct EAMCET to protect the interests of its students.
