‘Don’t let banks adjust scheme money against loan’

January 09, 2018 11:39 pm | Updated 11:39 pm IST - Peddapalli

Farmers have appealed to the State government to ensure that banks do not adjust or deduct the input assistance credited to their respective bank accounts against their loans.

At a meeting conducted by Collector A. Sri Devasena in Kasulapalli village of Peddapalli mandal on Tuesday, the farmers rued that banks had earlier deducted the crop loan waiver scheme amount for the loans they had taken.

The government should also see to it that the input assistance is given only to the farmers to take up agricultural operations without any money being deduction, they urged.

Tahsildar Anupama Rao, District agriculture officer Tirumal Prasad and Mandal Parishad president S. Sunitha were present at the meeting.
