District Collector Yogitha Rana flagged off the Digital India-Digital Telangana publicity vehicle here on Monday to enlighten people on the services being provided by the Government of India and the State Government online.

She said that with the use of the technology governance could be expedited and transparency be ensured. In this competitive world time was very valuable and with the launch of the Digital India programme public services, banking, insurance and payment transactions would become available at the door steps of the people, she said.

In order to bring those services closer to the rural people as part of the Digital India the State Government had undertaken the 18-day campaign in villages. Campaign would be done in four five gram panchayats every day.

“Our district has been in the forefront in respect of using the technology in the extension of the public services. Digital teaching is made available in 400 schools. Public utility services have been linked to the Digital India in 40 gram panchayats”, said Ms. Rana.

Joint Collector A. Ravinder Reddy, NIC officer Rajagopal and Information and Public Relations Assistant Director Y. Venkateswarlu were also present.
