Keeping in line with the latest digital trends, the district administration has pressed into service a vehicle equipped with an LED screen as part of a digital campaign to spread awareness on voting rights in Palair Assembly constituency, which is going to the polls on May 16.

The mobile campaign will familiarise the voters with the functioning of the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices, which will be used along with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in all the polling stations in Palair, sources said.

Accuracy

The VVPAT system will help demonstrate the accuracy of the voting system and provide greater transparency of the election process.

The digital campaign is aimed at highlighting the significance of voting rights, increasing voter turnout and strengthening the democratic process.

Joint Collector D. Divya formally inaugurated the digital campaign by flagging off a vehicle fitted with an LED screen and other digital tools at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. Ms. Divya said the vehicle will extensively tour the constituency as part the ongoing voter awareness campaign.

Short film

A two-minute short film has been made as per the directions of Collector M. Dana Kishore to acquaint voters with the functioning of VVPAT system and promote voter awareness. The short film will be screened in villages and towns across the constituency as part of the mobile campaign in the next few days.
