Vikalangula Hakkula Porata Samithi (VHPS) staged a protest at the district Collectorate here on Thursday, urging the State government to issue pensions to all the physically challenged persons, irrespective of the percent of disability.

The VHPS leaders said the State government is issuing Rs.1,000 pension cards to the differently abled with disability between 40 per cent and 79 per cent, and Rs 1,500 to people more than 80 per cent of disability.

To intensify stir

District president of VHPS, Chinthala Saidulu, also urged the government to issue pension to the elderly couples if they cross 60 years of age, otherwise, they threatened to intensify their protests across the State. They later submitted a representation at District Collector Office.
