Sri Godadevi-Ranganayaka Swamy Kalyanam was performed amidst religious fervour, marking the end of Dhanurmasotsavam festivities at the Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam on Wednesday.

Scores of devotees took part in the Kalyanamahotsavam, which was held on the premises of the historical shrine, on the eve of the Bhogi festival here.

Rathotsavam and other special religious ceremonies will be held in the temple town on the occasion of Sankranti festival on Thursday, temple sources said.

Meanwhile, rangoli and mehendi design competitions, besides kabaddi tournaments, were organised as part of Bhogi festivities in Khammam, Chintakani, Yerrupalem, and several other mandals in the district on Wednesday.

Bonfires were lit up heralding Sankranti festivities in several villages and towns in various parts of the district.
