Dealing with hard times

May 06, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:24 am IST - SANGAREDDY:

Residents of Erravalli and Narsannapet had a difficult time during Wednesday night’s heavy gales and rain as their temporary shelters were damaged.

Both the villages in Jagadevpur mandal were adopted by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. As part of the double bedroom houses scheme, all the dilapidated houses were removed and those living in them were provided temporary accommodation with a promise that they would get new houses by Ugadi. But due to various reasons, the project was delayed making people to continue their stay in temporary shelters.

Staying there would not have mattered much if only they had enough protection from the heavy gales of Wednesday. Rain water entered some of the sheds while asbestos sheets that covered the roof were blown away in the wind.
