With just a few days left for the three-day Telangana State Formation Day fete, the district administration has lined up a slew of cultural and literary programmes to mark the grand celebration, which will begin on June 2, the day the State came into existence in 2014.

The celebration will begin on Friday (June 2) by paying floral tributes to the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial near the R&B Guest House and hoisting the national flag at the Police Parade grounds.

Artistes’ rally

Later in the day, a rally will be taken out by folk artistes highlighting the cultural heritage of Telangana. Kavi Sammelan, a literary event, will also be organised the same day, sources said.

A mega cultural event will be held at Sardar Patel Stadium on Friday night, which will feature the Perini dance, the centuries old art form of the Kakatiya era.

Distribution of ‘KCR kits’ to pregnant women and disbursement of pension for single women will mark the celebrations on June 3 and 4.
