Cricket betting racket busted

The Bodhan police station house officer G. Venkateswarlu-led team raided the house of one Kamble Ashok at Rakasipet and arrested five punters who put bet on cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Sun Risers Hyderabad on Tuesday night. They recovered ₹1.63 lakh, 11 mobile phones, one laptop and two notebooks in which the bookies entered names of 34 persons, who participated in the betting. The arrested were identified as K. Ashok, K. Ravi, Talari Praveen, Kakarla Pratheesh and Gunjera Ramulu. The main accused Atheesh, based at Nanded has been on the run. Task force inspectors Jagadish and Chander Rathode and their teams also participated in the raid.
