A police constable serving in the traffic division under Miryalaguda limits allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train here on Wednesday early hours, the Government Railway Police reported.

T. Srinivas Chary, 48, was found on the railway tracks by the Miryalaguda station master at around 7 a.m. A suicide note supposedly written by the victim, found at the scene, mentioned that he was suffering from health issues and family disputes and was unable to lead a peaceful life.

According to Nalgonda SI (GRP) T. Achyutham, the investigating officer, the one-page note mentioned that he suffered from memory loss. “The victim wrote he didn’t have any enemies and not to suspect anyone. It appears to be a clear case of suicide,” he said.

Mr. Srinivas Chary, a 1993-batch constable joined duty at the present station two months ago, from his earlier posting at Thipparthy mandal. “Occasionally he complained of asthmatic symptoms, but at work he did not show any signs of suffering. He was well-disciplined,” his superior in the traffic wing, Sai Eshwar Goud recollected.

The victim’s body has been handed over to the family after post-mortem. The GRP is investigating the case for more details.
