Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao alleged that the Congress party leaders are instigating the land oustees at Mallannasagar and preventing the construction of projects in the State.

He also found fault with Telangana Telugu Desam Party leaders stating that they are trying to please party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by criticising the construction of irrigation projects.

The Minister said that the government has been offering a compensation of Rs. 6 lakh per acre in addition to offering double bedroom for those who are losing their houses.

“There is no need to take permission from the leaders of Andhra Pradesh like Chandrababu Naidu, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and N. Raghuveera Reddy. We have the permission of people from the State and they are standing by us every time we are facing elections, whether it was Paleru, Narayankhed or Greater Hyderabad,” said Mr. Harish Rao while addressing a gathering at the district headquarters after S. Vijayananda Reddy and T. Kondal Reddy took oath as Cane Development Corporation chairman and Sangareddy Market Committee Chairman respectively on Sunday. “Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao has been ranked as number one Chief Minister in the State by India Today survey while Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha schemes. The opposition parties are trying to put spokes in our development and irrigation activities,” said the Minister wondering whether the irrigation projects like Pattiseema, Galeru-Nagari, Handri-Neeva, Veligodu and Pothireddypadu had any permission. MLAs P. Babu Mohan, Chinta Prabhakar and others participated in the programme.
