Compensation sought for ryots hit by thermal power plant

May 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - NALGONDA:

The Congress Legislative Party leader K. Jana Reddy demanded the State government start the construction of pylon for Damarcherla Thermal Power Plant after paying compensation to all the farmers those who are losing land under the project.

Speaking to news reporters here on Saturday, the CLP leader said that the government must also provide employment to one of the family member from each family.

“The government went ahead to begin the construction of pylon without even informing the locals and drew stiff opposition from the farmers,” he said.

Extending their full support to striking RTC employees, Mr. Jana Reddy further said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to fulfil the promises made for RTC staff during the election campaign.
