Police personnel thanked City Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu who gave away his Haritha Mithra prize money of ₹2 lakh to police welfare here on Tuesday.
The Commissioner received ₹ 2 lakh with his award on Tuesday from the State government on the occasion of Independence Day. He gave away the cheque to administrative wing officials asking them to spend the same for police welfare.
Hasanaparthy Circle Inspector P. Kishan said it was a great gesture and was first time a officer was donating his money to police welfare. “It will be very useful for health and education needs of our family members. We are grateful to Commissioner,” he said. Kazipet CI L. Ramesh Kumar welcomed the gesture and said it set a new precedent in police department. “The gesture of Commissioner inspires other officials and ultimately it will benefit the families of police personnel,” he said. Police Officers Association president P. Ashok Goud and others thanked Mr. G. Sudheer Babu for kind gesture.
