Colleagues mourn Satyanarayana

July 31, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 18, 2016 05:07 pm IST - ADILABAD: “

Finally, ill-health claimed his life,” observed Adilabad Housing Assistant Executive Engineer Md. Shareef as he reacted to the death of his senior colleague, Satyanarayana, in-charge Deputy EE at Asifabad. The latter and his wife, besides their three children, died under tragic circumstances near Ghatkesar on Saturday.

The engineer was also reportedly perturbed over the developments in his department as the government was intending to disband the Housing Corporation.

Satyanarayana recently attended a counselling session and had agreed to be transferred to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on deputation, reportedly under pressure. There was disbelief and gloom among the staff working across the district in the Housing Corporation on hearing the sad news. They knew that the DEE was down with ill-health since long but none expected things to turn out the way they did.

According to a colleague, Satyanarayana had been transferred as AEE in Kerameri mandal about two years back. He was holding additional charge as Asifabad DEE since November last when the incumbent had retired.

The senior official had gone to his native place in Warangal on Friday intending to get a proper health check.

The next thing heard about him was the message of his death.
