Child prostitution: mother, head constable held

The police of Medak district arrested a woman and head police constable in connection with a child prostitution case late on Friday night. According to Toopran Circle Inspector T. Sanjay Kumar, the minor girl, a resident of Bahadurpally in Ranga Reddy district, studies in a school at Shivampet. Her mother, Padma, sent her to Harisingh, a head constable working at Kukatpally police station, during the Pongal holidays. Unable to bear the humiliation, the girl approached the ChildLine seeking help and approached the police with their help. Based on the girl’s complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the girl’s mother, Padma, and Harisingh.
