The CPI will lead an all party delegation and meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh demanding a CBI inquiry into the Miyapur land scandal, said party State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy.

He said high level officers and ruling party members were involved in land scandals worth about ₹20,000 crore in the State. The TRS leaders were resorting to land grabbing all over the State. Despite bringing it to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, no action has been taken till date.

The much promised development and welfare did not reach the genuine people. On the other hand, people are deprived of the public property as ruling party members resorting to amassing wealth.

He also accused the State government of being indifferent to the cases registered against the activists for separate Telangana. As a result the poor and innocent were made to appear before courts frequently. The students who took part in the movement were also suffering. The State government was asked to withdraw the cases.

“When we approached the Chief Minister, he said his party leaders are also appearing before courts as the cases pertaining to rail roko have to withdrawn by the Centre,” the CPI leader said.

No initiative

The State government which has been supporting the NDA government at the Centre should prevail upon it and ensure withdrawal of such cases as well. However, no such initiative is being taken by the TRS government.

The CPI plans to mobilize leaders of all parties and approach the Union Home Minister on the subject and also demand a CBI inquiry into Miyapur land scandal.
