Government should take steps to value the contribution of pharmacists in the health care, head R&D of ASPHAR Research Labs M. N. Murali Krishna said.

Speaking as chief guest at the World Pharmacists Day celebrations at the GITAM School of Pharmacy, GITAM University, Hyderabad on Tuesday, he urged the government to empower pharmacists and utilise their services in primary health care.

World Pharmacists Day is celebrated to highlight the impact and added value of the pharmacy profession and its role in improving health to authorities, other professions as well as to the general public. The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘From Research to Health Care: Your Pharmacist is at your service’.

“As care providers, we pharmacists, have achieved tremendous success in our goals to improve the quality of life of patients,” said Pharmacist at Sangareddy GH M. Vinod. Assistant Drugs Inspector K. R. Koteshwara Rao, principal School of Science G.A.Rama Rao and principal of the School of Pharmacy G.S.Kumar were present.
