Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Pon Radhakrishnan urged the party workers to bring the party to power in Telangana in next Assembly elections in 2019.
The Union Minister wanted the party cadre to explain to the common man the welfare schemes launched by the BJP government. “Nothing is impossible if we work hard. After the BJP came to power at Centre in 2014 the party came to power in 13 states. Now it should be our mission to claim power in Telangana,” he told the party workers here on Thursday.
Mr. Radhakrishnan was here on Thursday to take part in Warangal parliamentary constituency booth-level party workers meeting organised by Warangal Urban district unit. Addressing an impressive gathering at a private function hall he exhorted the BJP workers to set themselves the target to win 17 MP and 119 MLA seats.
Welfare schemes
The BJP-led NDA government has brought 93 different welfare schemes aiming to benefit society, mainly the downtrodden, poor and women. As a BJP worker, it is their duty to go into public and explain the importance of such schemes.
The Minister said BJP has a major contribution in the formation of Telangana State. The party leaders Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitely, K. Laxman and all others fought for the cause at the Centre and State level. BJP State president K. Laxman charged the TRS government with failing to deliver its election promises. It was resorting to vote bank politics by offering 12% reservations to Muslims only to cover up its failures. The meeting was presided over by Warangal Urban district BJP president Rao Padma. Party senior leaders T. Rajeshwar Rao, M. Dharma Rao, Ch. Janga Reddy, V. Jaipal, V. Sriramulu and others were present.
