As in the SSC and Intermediate exams, girls outshone boys in terms of the pass percentage in AP Eamcet-2015, the results of which were released here on Thursday. However, boys cornered an overwhelming number of the top 10 ranks in both streams.

Overall, 77.42 per cent of students from the engineering stream and 89.8 per cent from agriculture and medical streams cleared the test. In the engineering stream, 82.36 per cent of girl candidates cleared the exam, while boys registered a pass percentage of 74.44 per cent. In medicine, girls toted up a figure of 91.1 per cent and boys 87.4 per cent. However, boys dominated both the top 10 ranks. Kondapalli Anirudh Reddy topped the rankers’ list in the engineering stream and Kada Sri Vidhul topped the medical stream.

While the top 10 list in engineering featured only boys and no girls, there were only three girls among the top 10 in medicine. Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao said counselling for admission to engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh would commence on June 12. Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said the counselling date for medical college admissions would be announced soon.
